I remember as a child singing ” i have a river of life flowing out of me that makes the lame to walk and the blind to see” I thought of Jesus living within me, of how He would work directly through me, but now I see it is so much more than that. Oswald Chambers talks about how a rivers end touches places that the beggining knows nothing of. God gave me this vision of something that I did for someone that showed no real fruit that I could see, but later in passing that person mentions the words I said thinking little of them and the next person was touched. This is not to say that I have done anything, only that God’s word never returns void, that even when we can not see the work He has done, when we draw near to Him a river that flows through us, goes to places we know nothing of. He works in ways that we do not know, and our concentration must simply be on knowing Him, drawing to him, and speaking His words. There is so much that we can not see, we miss the forest for the trees often. Draw to Him and trust.
